Caribbean ICT Roadshow for Kingston, Jamaica in July |

Minister with responsibility for Information, Daryl Vaz, received commendations from Secretary General of the Caribbean Telecommunications Union, Bernadette Lewis that the lead up activities to the Jamaica staging of the Caribbean ICT Roadshow had gone well. Jamaica staged three youth-oriented events across the country that promoted the use of ICT for entrepreneurship and career building. The Caribbean ICT Roadshow will be in Kingston from July 19-20 and will feature exhibits and presentations by industry leaders and policymakers. Ms Lewis visited Minister Vaz at Jamaica House on July 2. Also attending the meeting was Director Post and Telecoms, Mr Cecil McCain (centre).

ICT Roadshow calls for Montserratians to innovate |
BRADES, Montserrat (March 25, 2010) – “We must innovate,” says Bernadette Lewis, Secretary General of the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) to attendees at the Executive Lecture Forum on Wednesday morning at the Montserrat Cultural Centre.
Lewis heads th e organization which is spearheading a regional tour promoting the use of information communication technology (ICT). The Caribbean ICT Roadshows began last July and so far six nations have held roadshows.
The Montserrat leg of the ICT Roadshow, which will be held here April 21 to 23, was officially launched by the Honourable Minister of Communications, Works & Labor Charles T. Kirnon before the forum began. He gave his thanks to the CTU for inviting Montserrat to be a part of the promotion of ICTs across the region, adding that the government had in the past seven months approved several key legislations to enable the island to take advantage of available technology. Minister Kirnon cautioned that as we look towards a more technologically advanced community we should be ever mindful of our past and seek to grow with the wisdom of our experiences as a guide.

BVI to Host ICT Roadshow in May |
Minister for Communications and Works Honourable Julian Fraser, RA and Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), Secretary General Ms. Bernadette Lewis unveiled plans for the BVI Road Show during a press briefing held on Thursday 11th Februray 2010, at the Moorings Mariner Inn. Speaking at the press briefing the Minister said "The roadshow is good for the BVI. The BVI relies extensively on financial services. More than 50% of the revenue from the treasury comes from financial services and we have to be able to provide relevant telecommunications services to continue to operate effectively for these businesses," the minister said.
