Invitation to Support and Participate |
|
The goals of ICT development cannot be accomplished by a single organisation but require the collective efforts and collaborative work by organisations, institutions and stakeholders of various disciplines. In recognition of the diverse nature of ICT innovation and the need for multi-stakeholder participation, the CTU is requesting the support of regional organisations to participate in and contribute to the staging of the Caribbean ICT Roadshow. Interested parties may support the CTU by delivering an address in a relevant forum, presenting a workshop, demonstrating innovative use of ICT, facilitating a discussion or consultation, advertising, providing information publications and donating prizes for competitions. Prospective partners in the Roadshow may suggest other activities or items which are in keeping with the theme of the Roadshow for inclusion on the programme.
Opportunity for ICT Research
Institutions seeking to develop or obtain statistical data on Caribbean ICT adoption are invited to take advantage of the opportunities the Roadshow presents to conduct surveys and gather key current–state data.
Contributing to the Roadshow
The CTU is a non-profit inter-governmental organization whose operations are financed by contributions from its members. The cost for activities such as this Caribbean Roadshow is defrayed through contributions of members, donor organizations and sponsors. Other stakeholders are invited to contribute finances, services and facilities to support the Roadshow. Assistance in media support, audio-visual, webcasting and Internet services would be welcome. Financial assistance to help meet the cost of organizing and delivering the programme in each country would also be appreciated. The finances would support the travel, accommodation and expenses for a limited number of experts, speakers and participants as well as advertising, secretariat services and other activities associated with the initiative.
